Gibson® introduced wooden bridges on their archtop guitars in the 1920s. Ebony and rosewood are central to the tone of legendary models like the L-5, ES-150 and ES-175. Allowing full resonance transfer between strings and top, giving Gibson® archtops their signature warmth and acoustic depth.
