Brown Sugar dissolves during the scrub, contributing mild acid-like activity as it breaks down. Sea Salt provides the coarser mineral exfoliation needed for elbows, knees, and heels where medium-grain exfoliation falls short. Coconut Oil is the emollient base: it deposits on the skin surface during scrubbing, providing meaningful post-rinse moisture so body lotion is often not needed.
Do I need body lotion after a coffee scrub?
Usually not. The Coconut Oil base deposits on the skin during scrubbing and provides post-rinse moisture that most single-oil scrubs do not deliver. If your skin is very dry, a light body lotion can follow. Rinse the shower floor thoroughly after use — the oil base makes it slippery. Do not use on the face; Coffee Grounds are too abrasive for facial skin.
